Adam Choe

Director, gBETA Medtech & Minneapolis

Adam came to gener8tor after six years of industry and two years of academic research experience. Adam's industry experience included roles at companies such as Nestle Healthcare, WuXi AppTec and St. Jude Medical (now Abbott). Adam then transitioned to the University of Minnesota for back to back research fellowships (the first in Innovation and the second in Noninvasive Neuromodulation). Over the past eight years, he has worked with new technologies in Medtech ranging from class III devices to software. 

Adam received his Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology and Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010. He went on to receive his Master of Science in Medical Device Innovation from the University of Minnesota in 2016.

Director, gBETA Milwaukee

Molly joined the gener8tor team after a nine-year career in journalism. Most recently, she served as managing editor of BizTimes Milwaukee, a bi-weekly regional business magazine where she also covered the Milwaukee startups, technology and financial services beats. Molly previously was a reporter covering health care and business for the Marshfield News-Herald in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

An Illinois native, she earned a bachelor's in journalism from Marquette University. She is passionate about helping startups clearly communicate their value proposition to stakeholders and investors.

Director, gBETA Greater MN St. Cloud

Precious Drew (she/her/hers) graduated from the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University in 2018 where she received her bachelor’s in Global Business with a focus on entrepreneurship. As a student, she experienced firsthand the thrill of turning an idea into a revenue-generating business through the Donald McNeely Center for Entrepreneurship’s Entrepreneur Scholars program. Precious joins the gener8tor team after completing a 9-month social impact fellowship through the Finnovation Fellows program in Minneapolis, MN.

Precious previously served in communications roles with the State of Minnesota in addition to serving as a Program Assistant with the City of Minneapolis. Through these experiences, she discovered a passion for the art of storytelling and helping others tell their own stories.

Phil Fonfara

Director, gBETA Beloit

As a teen Phil started his first business which he successfully ran for five years during the summer months, before joining New North where he managed the Fast Forward startup accelerator program for two years. Most recently Phil worked in commercial banking in the Appleton area before joining the gener8tor team. 

A Wisconsin native, Phil received degrees in Business Administration and Economics from St. Norbert College.

Jess Kerr

Director, gBETA Cincy
Program Manager, The Brandery

Jess joined the gener8tor team through the recent partnership with The Brandery. Prior to her role as the Brandery Program Manager, she spent two years as the Director of Development for a food waste recovery nonprofit. A Cincinnati native, Jess studied Marketing at the University of Dayton and interned for the Brandery in 2015.

Mischa Hamara

Director, gBETA Toronto

Mischa is passionate about working with people who like to disrupt the status quo. He’s had years of experience managing a team of diverse speakers and facilitators. Together, they mobilized communities to take action on relevant issues. Mischa also taught Leadership at the University of Toronto and in 2016, he designed the Incubator program at WE’s Global Learning Centre. His specializations are in strategy, business development, human centred design and coaching.

Jenni Le

Director, gBETA Madison

Jenni came to gener8tor after working for several years as a science writer and policy analyst for two state governments, and three years working for a conservation non-profit dedicated to supporting voluntary conservation on working land through ethics, science and incentives. Throughout her career, Jenni has gained deep experience communicating technical topics to wide audiences, and developed a passion working for mission-driven organizations.

Jenni has her B.S. in Biology and is currently getting her MBA from UW Madison.

Chelsea Linder

Director, gBETA Indy
Managing Director, gBETA

Chelsea joined the gener8tor team after managing the corporate innovation and incubation center at a private equity firm in Indianapolis. Prior to that role she was an operations manager for product and engineering at Angie’s List, where she discovered a passion for Design Thinking and customer-centered value creation. 

Chelsea graduated from Butler University in 2011 with BAs in International Studies, Spanish, and Anthropology.

Adrienne Palm

Director, gBETA Northeast Wisconsin
Director, gBETA Musictech

Adrienne’s path to the gener8tor team was borne out of her work in economic development, specifically launching new talent attraction and retention strategies at the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Fox Cities Regional Partnership. The ideation and implementation of intrapreneurial, community-wide programs such as Bazaar After Dark Night Market, Fox Cities Soup, Fox Cities YP Week and The Artery helped ignite her interest and participation in the local startup community. During her three and a half year tenure at the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, participation in Pulse Young Professionals Network grew by 2006% and became financially self sustaining.   

Adrienne has past experience in business development, the nonprofit sector and social innovation via participation in the final cohort of Millennial Trains Project, a national social innovation incubator. Adrienne studied dance at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

Stella Safari

Director, gBETA Detroit

Stella brings a strong background in venture capital and startup operations to the gener8tor team. She moved to Detroit as a Venture for America Fellow after earning her degree in Mathematics and Women’s Studies from Dartmouth College. Stella began her career at Invest Detroit’s First Step Fund where she assisted companies in securing investment throughout Southeast Michigan, before heading operations for startups Floyd and Ponyride in Detroit.

Stella is originally from the Congo and is passionate about creating economic opportunities for people there through her work.

jake smith

Director, gBETA St. Thomas

Jake attended the University of St. Thomas to pursue electrical engineering, and found himself enveloped in creative thinking at the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship. There, Jake discovered a zeal for early-stage venture development. Jake played baseball for the University of St. Thomas, and then went on to play semi-professionally. Upon finishing his baseball career, Jake joined the gener8tor team to lead gBETA and gALPHA programs at his alma mater.

Jake is Minnesota born and raise, and received his Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship from St. Thomas in 2018.

Abby Taubner

Abby started her career at gener8tor, initially as an Associate working directly with gener8tor’s startups. After graduating with a BBA in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014, Abby joined the team full-time and spent two years as gener8tor's Program Manager before focusing her efforts on gBETA. 

lauren usher

Director, gBETA Social Impact

Lauren came to gener8tor after a decade of working in research and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities. In this work, she learned how to communicate with a multitude of audiences and how to balance multiple projects at the same time. As Director of gBETA Social Impact, Lauren thrives on building relationships, problem-solving, and doing research on a wide variety of topics.

A native of Florida, Lauren got her BA in English and Psychology at Florida State University and her PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Miami. She moved to Madison in 2016.
